Donate to help Marny complete her journey

Help Marny to fund the new leg she needs by making a donation. Osseointergration is the process of fusing bone with a titanium rod to attach a new limb. It is long and painful and Marny is close to completing her journey, but she needs your help.

The leg Marny has currently is highly unsuitable for osseointegration patients and very unstable. The components are failing and causing Marny to fall often, which means injuries, including hemorrhaging from her stump.

She hopes to raise $45,000 to fund the leg she needs:  Donate at East Maitland Rotary Club web sire

Internation Childrens Games

Maitland City Council is calling for expressions of interest (EOI) from athletes and coaches wishing to represent Team Maitland at the International Children’s Games (ICG), which will be held in Lake Macquarie from 6-11 December 2014.

18 athletes aged between 12 and 15 and four coaches will be selected as part of the EOI process.

A minimum of four athletes will represent Maitland in athletics and swimming, six in football and a minimum of two in BMX.

Maitland City Council’s Manager Community and Recreation Services Lynn Morton says ‘This is an exciting opportunity for local young athletes to represent their region on the international stage. Selected athletes will also act as ambassadors for the City of Maitland during the six day event’.

Recognised by the International Olympic Committee, the ICG is the world’s largest multi sport youth games and this year carries the theme ‘Inspire, Embrace and Unite’.

Selected athletes must pay a $500.00 participation fee which will cover the cost of uniforms and team pins.

All costs associated with accommodation, meals and transfers to and from the sporting venues are covered by the host city.

Coaches will be required to stay with the athletes for the duration of the games.

Athletes and coaches wishing to represent Maitland in the ICG can contact Team Maitland’s Head Delegate Virginia Rodway for an information pack on 0408 877 595 or by emailing This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
